10th International Gold & Jewelry Exhibition,Q8

KUWAIT: Ahmadi Governor Sheikh Ibrahim Duaji Al-Sabah inaugurated yesterday the 10th Kuwait Gold and Jewelry Exhibition at the International Fair Ground here. In press statements following the inauguration ceremony, Sheikh Ibrahim hailed the great development in this year’s exhibition, citing the efforts exerted by the organizers.

He also welcomed all participating companies and sponsors of this important event which runs through April 28. For his part, Board Chairman of Kuwait International Fair Company Ahmad Tifoni, the event organizer, lauded Sheikh Ibrahim’s patronage to the exhibition and all government bodies’ help to render it a success.

He added that the famous Jewelry companies from Italy, Hong Kong, India, Thailand are taking part in the exhibition. Over 75 local and international fashion houses, department stores, boutiques galleries, wholesalers and retailers take part in the exhibition. This exhibition is the biggest in Kuwait and the whole region due to the number for the participants and the diversity of the displayed products. The 10th Gold & Jewelry Exhibition 2011 is one of the most fascinating events dedicated to jewelry sector in Kuwait. It is the organized on annual bases.

Profile of exhibits includes fashion jewelry; fashion jewelry materials; and fashion accessories like watches, belts and buckles, scarves, shawls, handbags, beauty items and accessories, other ornaments and accessories. The event will be talking place at the Kuwait International Fair Ground between 20 to 29 Dec 2012.

Amazing Underwater Sports,Q8

The department/ stall which I admired the most in Mishref Exhibition Ground,was that which exhibited the activities of Kuwait Dive Team  and Padi Seal Team.


Kuwait Dive Team is a team of Kuwaiti young men who are attempting rescuing and rehabilitating Kuwaiti marine environment through dedicated and distinct marine operations. They gave us a nice CD where the work they had done and plan to do are beautifully shown. The main objectives of Kuwait Dive Team is rehabilitating and protecting marine environment; encouraging voluntary activities to serve the environment and qualifying national staff specialized in marine projects and operations. They also give Scuba Diving Course.

Have you ever wondered what it's like to dive with flashlights, take digital pictures underwater or float effortlessly like an astronaut? Have you ever wanted to do Scuba diving and see the beautiful underwater world? The PADI SEAL TEAM will help you to do all these....it is for young divers who are looking for action-packed fun in a pool by doing exciting scuba AquaMissions. I always wanted to do Scuba Diving....a dream ...an urge to try it at least once in a life time. And when I saw and met members of Padi Seal Team I was thrilled....my dream will become a reality during my stay in Kuwait. 

They offer Discover Scuba Diving course which is free and runs for around 3 hours. Once you take the course and feel like scuba diving is something you want to get into then you can sign up to the Open Water / Advance course which is KD140. That course involves 5 pool dives, 5 classroom sessions and 4 open water sea dives. Once you complete that course you would get your scuba diving certificate and will be able to go diving with other certified scuba divers without a need for an instructor.

Independence50 Exhibition,Mishref Q8

Last weekend we visited the Mishref Exhibition ground to have a look at the Independence 50 Exhibition. It started on Thursday and will go on for 10days. We are frequent visitors to the exhibition ground but this was related to the Independence Day of Kuwait we thought we must visit it as we believed it would be special. 


Kuwaiti Minister of Finance Mustafa Al-Shimali opened the Independence 50 exhibition, organized by Kuwait International Fair (KIF) in collaboration with the National Celebration Commission.


The exhibition is taking place in hall no 5,6, and 7. Hall no 5 you will find mainly perfume, sanitary and  cloths. The main attraction is Hall no 6 and 7 , where you will find government companies participating in it. They are distributing free brochures which is very helpful for people (non-kuwaitis/ expats) like me.We enjoyed our visit and is very happy to know about the various government departments and their job.


A must visit for people who stay in Kuwait. We found lot of Kuwaitis and non-Kuwaitis.

The ten-day event is part of the activities marking the Kuwait's commemoration of her 50th Independence Day, the 20th Liberation Day and the fifth anniversary of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's inauguration; it will surely  attract large numbers of visitors.

Visit to Mishref Exhibition Ground, Q8

When my brother visited us there was exhibition of Arabic food  items and IT n Communications exhibition going on at Kuwait International Fair Ground in Mishref. We decided to take him to Mishref as it is the best way to have a feel and experience of Arabic food , culture and people. He was very happy to see so many Arabic people, taste their food ( sweets and Shawarma) and to have seen the latest technology gadgets.

 In the IT & Communications exhibition that was held at Hall no 8 , there was arts and crafts going on for kids. They were given all the necessary things and they had to draw or make a fish with the colour papers. Mehr is too young to be part of such activities but as they insisted I helped her in making a fish. Also a quiz competion and a football match was held.
