India Book of Records to conduct Memory Championship in Kuwait

India Book of Records will conduct first ever Memory Championship in Kuwait. The championship will be held on Saturday, 7th April 2012 from 9:00 Am to 12:00 PM at Indian Community School, Khaithan.

India book of records started by renowned memory guru Dr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury in the year 2004. Dr. Biswaroop himself is a Guinness world record holder. He is the only person on earth who holds Guinness records in mind, memory and body. He has also written numerous books on memory and also patented various memory tools. He now works day and night trying to find some extraordinary people and helps them to achieve extraordinary feats similar to what he has already achieved.

He believes each one of us is born with some very special, unusual and unique talent that can make us stand apart from rest of the world. So students who can memorize 50 digits in just 5 minutes or memorize a sequence of 30 words in just a single reading or want to have a super- power memory should try and participate in this memory championship, which is to be held in Kuwait for the first time.

Different Awards such as Sub-Junior Grand Master, Junior Grand Master, Grand Master and Memory Wizard will be issued by India Book of Records for the winners in this Championship. The certificates will be given in an exclusive function to be held in Kuwait later next month and the successful students may get a chance to feature in the next edition of India book of records. Students who had participated in IIK Memory Workshop conducted by Dr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury in January 2012 are getting a free online guidance/ practice on various learned memory techniques.

The Young Drivers Programme Using Electronic Cars at The Car Museum,Q8

If you’re 16 and can’t wait to get behind the wheel (without getting behind bars) here’s some great news. In a country where the legal age to drive is 18, Car Museum City in Shuwaikh, could give future drivers a good idea on what to expect by the time they are old enough to get their driving license.
The main idea behind this was to teach youngsters about traffic rules, and the basics of safe driving. “The City aims to spread traffic awareness through an entertaining program. The participants will later respect the traffic rules and apply safe driving on real roads,” explains Director of the Car Museum City Ahmad Al-Anezi.
Part of the Historical, Vintage, and Classic Cars Museum in Shuwaikh, the Car Museum City has 20 Full Car vehicles in four different colours available for visitors to drive. The vehicles are electronic and have speeds which are controlled by a computer. Around 16 male and female instructors are available to train children to drive responsibly. The cars are safe and suitable for the differently-abled, especially since it can be stopped by the instructor at any time. This Museum City was built and designed according to international measures and technology using the highest standards.
“In order to let young visitors enjoy the simulated experience in a way that is similar to real driving, the tracks of the City have been designed like real streets with all the details,” Al-Enezi explains. He adds that the traffic signs, car parking, public transportation, pavements, green spaces, and traffic signal lights allow the participants to learn traffic rules and safe driving in a simple and exciting way.
The program starts with a registration procedure, where parents register their children’s names by filling out the application form and attaching their photograph. After watching a short documentary film, the child is ready to get started. The documentary, Al-Enezi explains, includes the rules and restrictions of driving in the Car Museum City, along with instructions to control the car.
The next part of the program is practical application, which is 15-minutes long, depending on the participant. “The participant will have the opportunity to drive the car with an instructor who will test them to determine what they have learnt. If the participant passes this test successfully, he will then receive a membership issued by the Car Museum City similar to a driving license. In case the participant fails, he receives another chance to come later and repeat the test,” he pointed out.
The Car Museum City has not been launched officially. Its soft opening took place on January 1 this year.  Al-Enezi explained that the official opening will be held soon. According to him, the City began operating early because it wanted to provide better services. “We also take opinions and suggestions from visitors to improve our performance. We are also increasing the levels of difficulty so as to offer more activities for visitors,” highlighted Al-Enezi.
According to Al-Enezi, seven vehicles can be operated at the same time. There are about 180 visitors pouring in every day. On Saturdays, the number of visitors reaches nearly 400.The individuals can come without making a reservation as we have a waiting list. Therefore, it would be better if a group from any school, embassy or institution makes an advanced reservation,” he added.
The vehicles in the museum were granted by HH Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah. The Car Museum City is open from Saturday to Thursday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, and from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Entry and all activities are free of charge. Children above the age of 10 are allowed to take the cars for a spin.

Visit to Kuwait's City of Silk

Last weekend we decided to drive to Subiya, the place of construction of Kuwait's City of Silk. It is the place where world's tallest tower is to constructed. The place is 150kms from our house. It was a longgggg drive and we enjoyed it.

How to go from Abu Halifa : We  took highway 40 and drove to 7th Ring Road. Drive straight till you get the meeting point of (7 n 6th ring road). Drive straight......

It is a long drive and its desert on both side of the road.....

The point where 7 n 6 ringroad meets is near the Shooting Club of Kuwait. Drive straight. You will cross Sulaibiya(the whole-sale vegetable and fruits market) ......then cross the Al Abdullah City.....Jahra......Jahra Industrial Park

Most part/ area on both side of the road and slowly as you drive straight and nearer to your destination you will hardly see any cars.

It was our first visit to the area so we followed the sign boards

Just drive straight.....sign-boards will guide you. But as we drive , a point will come where you will get confused.....construction of the road is going on and to some extend there is no sign boards. Dont get confused.....just drive straight.

As you drive straight on the 6th Ring Road, you will see Al-Sabah Military Academy/ Commondo Camp

Drive straight and you will see Sabah Al Ahmad Natural Reserve (20km) from the Academy

Did you know about it?? We didn't know and was pleasing surprise and decided to visit it soon.

The road is deserted.....desert on both sides and you will get to see naturally formed sand-dunes.

And how come you have not come across camels in the desert.......very soon you will get to see them also

On your left you will see "Military of Interior's Shooting Range"............Further ahead you will see sign -borads indicating "Camping Area"........"Khuwaisat Chalets"(635-640)

Drive straight..............hardly you will get to see a car or people

Then you will cross National Guard Society /Khajma Camp.............Drive straight..........You will get to see desert sands on both side of the road.....sand dunes

You will see another board indicating Sabah Al Ahmad Natural Reserve.

Drive straight.......... don't forget its a longgggggggggggg road.

You will see a Telecommunication Station to your Left.

Drive staright..You will get to see a board indicating Subiya Radio Station to your right..Sabriya to your right..........Again camping area to your right..........drive straigt..........get to see a board like this......this board you will come across many times

Drive..........Get to see boards like this

More camels..........

Camps.........

You will see a bridge.....we were over joyed.........we knew we were near our destination.

The bridge connects Subiya to Boubyan Island (the largest island) of Kuwait

The construction of the bridge is over but not open to public.

The Hyundai power plant  near the area

Preliminary infrastructure like roads, bridge are under construction.....

You will understand that construction is going on ....

Little further you will get to see..........

Subiya Police Station

Just loved these desert trees

The initial  infrastructure like roads, bridge is constructed....couldn't see what construction is going on in the  Boubyan island as entrance is closed to public. It's just at the initial stage and lot and lotttttttttttttttttttttt of things to be constructed.

But one thing is sure, construction is going on and though the project maybe delayed the splendid city will be completed someday.
