Fahaheel Sea-side,Q8

A perfect place to spend your evening in Kuwait, if the weather is good is Fahaheel sea-side. If you are lazy enough to cook something and pack it to eat while relaxing there, you can buy from the innumerable restaurants. Or just go for window shopping at Al-Kout or Al-Manshar Mall.

Fahaheel is one of my favourite place in Kuwait. Before my daughter was born we visited Fahaheel almost every weekend. And sometimes in week days also when the weather was really pleasant. But things changed after her birth. We now prefer going to Lulu, 360 or Avenues as its easy to get a parking place and get all our things in one place.

Last weekend my husband had some work at Fahaheel(Highway side). So myself and my daughter decided to spend our time window shopping at Al-Kout and relax at the beach. It was a pleasant weather and both of us enjoyed.

Took few pic's of the Fahaheel evening.........

Enjyd exploring Fahaheel@ weekend

Fahaheel, is one of the main area of Kuwait. We have visited it many times and every time we enjoy it.Infact it has all, you just name it....lot of restaurants, Sea side,Centre point, Al Kout Mall, Al Manshar Mall, 5-star Rotana Hotel, Fahaheel Bazar, LuLu, Al Ghanim,Fish market, Vegetable market, many many shops selling cloths, accessories, gold shops, money exchanges etc. So all your needs are fulfilled. As we stay in Abu Halifa, this is the best place for us to shop, as it is only a 15-20 min drive from our place. But it changed after Mehr was born. The main problem here is parking your vehicle. You may have to park in a opposite direction though you have work in a different direction. To get a place to park your car is the main concern here. So to carry Mehr from one place to another is quite difficult when specially the weather is humid.
This weekend when we went to Fahaheel, Jeet told me that he will take me to a different area of Fahaheel. I was surprise as to which new area he will take me. We parked our car in the parking area of Al Manshar Mall. We walked towards the back side of Rotana Hotel and the Al Manshar mall. I was thinking where is he taking us, when I saw a security personal. Jeet talked to him and we went inside. I didn't know that it is  a residential complex. One of Jeet's friend stay here. The residential complex consist of 3 bedroom apartments, quite spacious and the view of the sea and Fahaheel from the apartment is just beyond description....all I can say is "wah". All at the price...guess......only 350KD.....we thought it would be 600-700KD. Though its in the heart of Kuwait, lot of market and hotel nearby, its far from the hue and cry. No noise, a perfect place to stay. The sea side, shopping area/markets are at stone's throw. We got tempted to shift but with a kid we don't need such a big place. The job of maintaining the big apartment will fall on me. So I at once cancelled the idea when Jeet suggested.
We just moved around Al Manshar Mall....I purchased few souvenirs. This mall has some nice souvenir shops, owners/shop-keepers are Kashmiri's( from India). It has lot of brand show-rooms, restaurants. A nice place to move around.

Al Mauleem Mall Center,Q8

Kuwait is a small country but Malls has mushroomed everywhere. Every four-five months you will get to hear about a new Mall.

A new Mall has come up in Fahaheel. Can say its opposite Max(if you stand in front of Max, you can get to see it). It’s Al Mauleem Mall Center. The word “Center”is written in tiny letters next to Mall. In fact you cannot call it a Mall in the true sense. There are lot many shops in its three floors . The ground floor or basement has a big shop where you will get all types of things from kitchen to bedroom items which ranges from 100 fills to 100 dinar.
The first floor has two restaurents where you will get juices and snacks. It also has few shoe shops (not branded) but the designs are very pretty and nice. Also shops dealing with ladies bags/purses; chocolate n dry fruits shop, 500 fills and 100 fills shops and few shops trading with perfumes , nice imitation and cosmetic jewellery, ladies dress’s and kids dress’s are there. I liked the collection in these shops. In the upper floor there is the kid’s games corner, few shops dealing with ladies and men’s cloths and few 100 fills shops. There are no branded shops in this Center but it’s a good time pass to beat the summer heat.

It has become my good time-pass place, when Jeet visits the Bangladeshi market to buy fish. I dont like visiting the narrow Bangladeshi market with Mehr, so I prefer doing window shopping at this mall. Mehr too enjoys her time here.

Bangladeshi Market,Fahaheel,Q8

Bangladeshi Market at Fahaheel is popular among non-vegetarians, especially for the fish market. The fish comes from Bangladesh and you will get all type of river fish here. During the winter, you get fresh one, which comes on Thursday night and by Friday morning it’s all finish. So you need to go early in the morning to get them. There are lots of big, clean fish markets in Kuwait but they are of sea fish.

Of course, we do buy from there but the sea fish’s smell while cooking it is not at all pleasant so we are not very regular at consuming them except for the prawns which are my favorites. Actually in our floor at our building we are four families. All are vegetarians except us. So we feel little guilty though they have never told or complained about the non-vegetarian smell. I myself find the sea fish smell so very fretted that I don’t want my nice neighbors to feel miserable because of it.

The Bangladeshi market consist of small shops where you will get all types of river fish(frozen), different types of Indian vegetables, spices and groceries that mainly Indians and Bangladeshi’s use. So if you are an Indian or Bangladeshi and need anything special that’s the best place. It’s near Max at Fahaheel. Another such market is there at Kuwait city.

The place is congested and remains over crowded with foodstuff and sometimes people/customers mainly during the weekends. You will not enjoy the pleasure and delight of marketing at a big shopping center or mall here, but this place is worth a visit if you like river fish. So you can give a try.
