Canary Restaurant, Q8

When my brother visited us, we planned to take him to a nice restaurant to taste good, authentic Arabic food. He was with us for only 11days. It was very hectic those days as we moved around Kuwait, both in the day time and in the evenings. We had delicious Arabic food before both at “The Teatro” at Hilton and “The Failaka Restaurant” at Al-Mansar Rotana and we planned to take him to one of them. But because of the hectic schedule I just forgot to confirm with the respective hotels as to when they will have Arabic theme night( i.e. only on a particular day of the week they serve Arabic food. )We completely forgot on what days of the week we went to these restaurants before. So in the evening when my husband asked me before going whether I confirmed with the restaurants I remembered about it. I called the respective hotels and to our dismay found that both the restaurants they serve Arabic food only on Thursdays.

He would go the next day and we did not have time. We decided to try out Canary restaurant at Fahaheel, near CentrePoint and next to Beach Palace restaurant. We had tried Arabic snacks there before and liked it. But it would be our first complete Arabic meal that day. But by the time we reached the restaurant, Mehr felt asleep so my brother suggested we should pack the meals for home. But the problem was everything is in Arabic, even the menu. Luckily, my husband spotted to Bengali speaking guys who works in the restaurant, who were of great help. We ordered a variety of Arabic delicacies from snacks to chicken rice to mix grill. We just loved the food. Suman, my brother was very happy with the food. Infact till now we had the best Arabic food at Canary.

Canary Restaurant has many branchs through-out Kuwait and has been serving traditional Arab cuisine for the past 30 years. It is a favourite among locals and expatriates. A variety of sandwiches and grills are serve at this eatery. Canary opens extremely early in the morning to serve a typical oriental breakfast such as foul (beans), falafel and omelettes. Fresh juices are also available, yet tend to be slightly overpriced. Canary can home deliver and is also available to cater for special occasions. Prices are moderate to low.

Takeaway and Home Delivery services are available.
